A Message from Craig Herman
The Way I See It

Here’s a great reminder about the impact we have on others:

“You never really know the true impact you have on those around you. You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them. You never know how much your kindness turned someone’s entire life around. You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk. So don’t wait to be kind. Don’t wait for someone else to be kind first. Don’t wait for better circumstances or for someone to change. Just be kind, because you never know how much someone needs it.”

– Nikki Banas

Perfect Your Proofing
MAKE IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME THROUGH

It may seem like there is never time to proof something thoroughly the first time, but when it is not done, you may end up making time to do the entire job a second time. Just what are some of the things that should be checked during the proofing process? Here is a list to perfect your proofing strategy:

guy reviewing brochure or Kim's new picture

Proof the text.

The first place to start is the text. Review all text for spelling and grammatical correctness, check punctuation, and most importantly, accuracy of content. Making changes to text later in the production process will only slow things down, so make sure that everything is perfect before moving on to the next step.

Proof the images.

Viewing the images on your computer is a great place to start, as long as your screen is calibrated properly, but keep in mind that the colors on-screen will not be a perfect match to the colors that are printed. Be sure to check the size and resolution of the image. For high-level image quality jobs, it may be wise to have a physical proof rather than just an on-screen proof of the images done on professional proofing equipment so you can get a better idea of the true color of the piece.

Proof the pages.

Checking an entire page of an original can be done on screen, but it is also a good idea to print out the pages. Look over the typography, placement of images, illustrations and text, as well as hyphenation and line arrangement, page format, and bleeds.

The difference between a thorough proof and no proof at all is the time you may spend having to redo a job. Taking the time at the beginning will save you time and money in the long run.

Handling Complaints on Social Media
TIPS TO HANDLE COMPLAINTS WITH GRACE

If your business has received complaints on social media, rather than ignoring, blocking, or deleting them, here are a few tips for handling complaints with grace:

  • Reply as quickly as you can, including on evenings and weekends. Even if you can’t provide an immediate resolution, let the customer know you’re looking into it and will reach out as soon as possible.

  • Acknowledge mistakes and offer a sincere, personalized apology. Avoid using canned statements.

  • After posting a public apology, take your conversation offline whenever possible so you can talk to the person one-on-one.

  • Empower your employees to escalate and correct mistakes as they see fit, without waiting for management approval on most customer issues.

  • Follow up with your customer within a couple of days to ensure their issue has been fully resolved and handled satisfactorily.

Remember, building trust with your customers takes time, but it takes only seconds to lose it. By letting customers know you value their opinions, good and bad, you can create loyal customers for years to come.

Discount Cards
GET YOUR NAME IN FRONT OF PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS

Discount cards can be a great way to promote your business, create brand recognition, and get your name in front of prospective customers.

While discount cards can be printed in any size or shape, they are commonly created in a size similar to a business card or a square card. They are often printed on heavy, cardstock paper and can be customized with any finishing touches, such as metallic ink, embossing, debossing, or die-cut edges and cut-outs.

Discount cards are popularly added to existing direct mailings and purchases and are even provided with partnering brands and mailings. An example is coupon cards from Hello Fresh, which includes a promo code and directs recipients to visit their website to redeem.

If you’d like help creating the perfect discount card to boost sales and promote your business, visit our website or call us today!

Did you know you can easily use dictation to convert speech to text on your PC using Windows 10 or Windows 11?

To use voice dictation on your PC, go to Settings and turn on online speech recognition. Remember, to use dictation, your PC needs to be connected to the internet.

To start dictating, press the Windows key + H simultaneously to open the dictation toolbar. To stop dictating at any time, say “stop dictation.”

If you’re using a tablet or a touchscreen, tap the microphone button on the touch keyboard to start dictating. Tap it again to stop dictation, or say “stop dictation.”
